My screen capture tool of choice

There are a couple of different programs from this vendor that will allow you to capture a screen demonstration with or without an audio track, and then create an avi output file that you can publish (see autoscreenrecorder). Also, some snapshot captures and animators.

Jing can capture and share videos (up to five minutes long) from your computer screen. Narrating a quick video is a great way to show someone exactly what you mean. Once you select your entire desktop, window, or custom area, click the Capture Video button.

Debut Video Recorder provides a great tool if you want to record video or capture an image on your screen. I used it to record student speeches before my college installed cameras in our speech classrooms. It can be saved to a flash drive and does not have to be installed on your computer the way most programs do.

I often use Jing to capture images or provide instructions on how to navigate through a LMS, Jing allows you to use arrows to direct student to the correct location on the screen.

For your Iphone. I found this free app easy to use; create a video and upload to You tube, Google +, facebook, or twitter in a few minutes.
