Khan academy has free videos on Youtube on a variety of anatomy and physiology subjects and pathophysiology. It's a great way to review the basics with the nursing students with high quality videos/lectures from Khan academy. It's free and I get a lot of positive feedback from the students.

Loretta-Thanks for the reminder about using Khan Academy videos in nursing courses and that they are free. I have to admit I forgot about this site. I too often use videos from You Tube (Nurse Sarah) to help students reinforce their learning. Thanks-Pat

Using Twitter to engage students.

I found this article helpful by dispelling the myth of teaching math with online and tech tools. I keep getting resistance and some of it is mine.

Great augmented reality labs that can be used to practice in Anatomy. I've even made my own assignments by using the pictures from the assignments.

This paper raises serious doubts regarding the success of our educational system in preparing students for the knowledge society. According to the author the knowledge economy "...holds the promise of changing, to our benefit, some of the most deep-seated and universal regularities of economic life and of dramatically enhancing productivity and growth. Its effects, however, have so far proved modest." The disruption brought by the new technologies can cause an even bigger inequality in societies. Worth thinking about it.

This is a great resource for chemistry teachers. In particular, I recommend the math skills area and the "Introduction to Stoichiometry" (Level 3, especially!).
