Not only has the class been very helpful, but the ION Web page gives me much information on sample rubrics, and many other ideas on instructional strategies as I continue to enhance my teaching abilities in my online classes.

Overview/Introduction We've been waiting a long time for computers to dramatically change education, but for the most part, that promise remains unfulfilled. Unlike in the business world, where the computer quickly became a fixture on every desk and transformed both day-to-day tasks and the business landscape as a whole, computers have not transformed the goals of educators, or even the methods used to achieve those goals.

Whoo Hoo! I made it in. I feel like I belong to something! All kidding aside, this list describes the characteristics we need to be successful online learners and what qualities our students need to remain successful in our classes. Like the facilitator, the online student possesses unique qualities. The online students of today consist primarily of working people who are trying to better their opportunities. This however is changing, as more and more young and older people become aware of the online model.

The article discusses the paradigm shift in learning styles and approaches using the web resources. Personal learning environments and internet sifting for content is discussed as well.

I agree that as we continue, learning will become more interactive, using all types of tech tools to enable students not only to learn in the classroom, but as online learners also.
