Scribblar is an online whiteboard application. While many disciplines lend themselves well to text, there are certainly classes where the ability to literally draw students a picture is worth a thousand words.

Piazza is designed to connect students, TAs, and professors so every student can get the help they need when they need it. Today, hundreds of thousands of students across hundreds of campuses are using Piazza for their classes. It warms me to think I started something that is impacting the way students learn and the way instructors teach.

This article presents a rather extensive list of things to put in place in order to reduce cheating in online classes. It is unlikely that cheating will be eradicated in online or in f2f classes but every effort towards its reduction is an effort that enhances the value of a certification from the institute.

Abstract: As more and more instructors enter the world of online teaching and learning, a body of knowledge is emerging around the challenge of facilitating online interaction and fostering online collaboration. This paper draws from the literature on asynchronous learning and the authors' own experiences with online discussion and collaborative online projects. We identify a variety of techniques for focusing student dialogue, fostering an online learning community, and promoting successful collaboration. Instructors who are teaching wholly online courses or simply integrating online components into face-to-face classes will benefit from the observations and discussion.

I am moving toward more tech and eventually considering textbook-free classes. Step one is trying a semester with Aplia, a text-linked software program that will allow me to entirely design the course using the online version of the text I selected for my students, complete with a grade book and assignment records for each student. I am excited to start using such a technology-intensive approach for my classes.

Very useful videos, some long and some shorter, to help build lessons around or to supplement a lesson one has already created. TED Talks is useful as well, but this education version of it offers more potential for use in a class.

As a professor who favors pop quizzes, Cedrick May is used to grimaces from students caught unprepared. Video lessons are one of the primary technology tools used to deliver content in blended/flipped classrooms. The learning happens at home and when students are in class, they participate in active-learning activities or group work. Great to try out with a few lessons in f2f classes as well. It greatly increases student engagement and participation.

These online collaboration tools will enable students to communicate and collaborate fast and easily. This will sustain their interest, improve focus and they would be able to contribute in best possible way and get quality results in turn.
