subhanallah alhamdulillah - repeated Subhan Allah (سبحان الله): Meaning Allah is perfect in an absolute sense without any defects or imperfections of any kind. Usually translated as Glory be to Allah. Alhamdulillah (الحمد لله): Meaning all praise and thanks belong to Allah alone because He is the originator of everything. Being Muslim it is a great honor for the Muslim community that they believe in such a prophet whose follower are so profoundly attached with his teaching of religion and they have the greatest respect and love even to use his name along with their own name. All Muslim cultures consider it very important to get united with the name of prophet by using the great Muslim name Mohammad with their new generation and even inculcate in the minds of their younger generation the attachment to the name of their Holy prophet. This name of Mohammad may be pronounced and written in different spelling a version of the style but the meaning of all is about the one which is called 'the one who is most praised in this world'. This can be proved by the follower of the Muslim religion that they have shown such attachment to this name of their prophet. Muslim names may be having any prefix or suffix to be attached with this name Mohammad, but they consider it is necessary and foremost important and beneficent for their better fortune and nice living in this world. They think it as peace of mind to be united with this great name.

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (Peace Be Upon him) said, "There are two statements that are light for the tongue to remember, heavy in the Scales and are dear to the Merciful: `Subhan-Allahi wa bihamdihi, Subhan-Allahil-Azim [Glory be to Allah and His is the praise, (and) Allah, the Greatest is free from imperfection)'." [Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

Whoever says, لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَحَدْهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ يُحْيِي وَيُمِيتُ، وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ 'La illaha illallah, wah-dahu la sharika lah, Lahul-mulku wa lahul hamd, wa huwa 'ala Kul-li shayin Qadeer.' (There is no god but Allah, alone, without any partner. The Kingdom and praise belong to Him and He has power over everything.)

subhanallahi wa bihamdihi Of course there are many types of dhikr. Dhikr means praising Allah, remembering Allah. SubhanAllah wa bihamdihi is a good one, but even something as simple as saying, "Thank you, Allah" when you finish a meal is a type of dhikr.
