The French government launched air strikes yesterday to help the Mali government push back the militants who were capturing strong grounds. The strike was successful in driving the terrorists out of the strategic town of Konna, 600 km from the capital Bamako. The recent advances of the terrorists to the capital had raised alarms in the European Leaders as the militant group was linked with Al-Qaeda and if Mali falls in their hands, it can serve as another safe haven for the terrorist organization. France was the first country to take practical steps in helping its former colony.
