This is the homepage for Drum Corp International. This can be used for all marching instructors during marching season. It can can also be used to promote what DCI. Students can utilize the website as well for audition information or performance attendance.

I use this for my marching band students so they can access local shows and for audition information.

DCI serves as a model for many competitive marching programs around the world, especially those who participate in the Bands of America circuit. Jazz in America is an all encompassing Jazz education website. It offers everything from what jazz is and how it began to lesson plans that examine characteristics of all different jazz styles. The website discusses important performers and composers. It also looks at how jazz evolved. Audio and visual examples are provided. Assessments are also provided in this website.

8note Recorder is a great website that has free recorder music listed by difficulty and categories. It is an easy website to navigate and can provide great enrichment music for those schools that use recorder stations in the classroom. It is especially helpful if your students have one-on-one technology to use where they play the recorder.

Classic Cat is a website that hosts over 6,000 classical recordings. The user is able to look up songs by composer, title and genre. It also houses a link to "Young Composers". Each recording is a full recording. This is perfect supplement to any Music Appreciation lesson plan while studying the Classical Era.

Musictheory.net is an all encompassing music theory website. It includes lesson plans and on-line, interactive exercises that solidify and enhance those lesson plans. This website also includes great theoretical tools. These tools include interval calculators, analysis, chord and scale calculators and even a 12 tone row matrix. It also has utilities such as an pop-up piano and metronome.

Smithsonian Jazz is a website fro music educators. It covers every facet of jazz. It has links to concerts and Jazz collections and archives. This includes links to articles, sheet music etc. This website also has a link to lessons surrounding great artists such as Ellington, Ella, Louis Armstrong, Benny Carter and many more. Jazz Appreciation Month is covered as well as all Masterworks in the Jazz Genre.

Resource for UF Masters in Music Education. This site is helpful to read, connect, collaborate, and steal great idea through blogs. I always gain a sense of confidence when I see that other educators are having similar issues that I am but more importantly dealing with them in similar ways. Lesson planning, resources are easily accessed through blogs such as these!

Resource for UF Masters in Music Education. Google classroom has become an incredible resource for me. I didn't fully understand the potential that the program offers but it truly takes a lot of administrative work off my desk. Google Forms will create student progress spread sheets. Students can record an mp3 file of themselves through a program like GarageBand and submit to the classroom for assessment. I can add lectures and resources to my class to allow them to study for written exams.

It allows for a student to be accompanied and even record assignments to be turned into the teacher. This program greatly reduces class time spent on assessment!

Resource for UF Masters in Music Education. NAfME offers a plethora of resources for teachers and administration. This site can show you how to spread advocacy, current legislation that is being pushing on the Hill, lesson plans, or blogs to talk with fellow educators.

This site in dedicated to articles written and based on music education. This is an international website that allows authors to submit papers and peer review others journal entries. It also allows music educators to read research journals based on all aspects of music education. There is a wide variety of research topics, all of which are very high quality! This is also a great advocacy website.

This is a helpful website for students interested in jazz. Students can read more about the history of jazz, learn about specific artists, and get tips for improving their own playing.
