This is an online game that works will aural recognition of the instruments in the orchestra. After getting an answer correct, there is a description of the instrument in more detail, including how it looks, what it sounds like, how many are in the orchestra, and where they sit.

This page details the process of violin making, sound production and care and maintenance.  I will include this page on my school website for the students and parents to use as a reference.

Low cost already-made journal for kindergarteners related to their music activities. Features many important musical concepts that I want to implement. This website has tons of great other types of pre-made worksheets for use in classrooms.

This page is great for younger beginners (elementary age) in orchestra.  The violin fingering chart is very colorful and easy to read.  The site includes lists of music for each instrument and performer bios.

Easily edited to incorporate music, this is a slap vocabulary game to reinforce reading and vocabulary skills. I could use musical terms that we are studying or instruments. I could even show a picture of the instrument and the students have to find the words. I'm excited to try this.

Music Education resource that has free and low cost downloadable games for children to use that reinforce musical concepts. My 3rd and 4th graders love Staff Wars. My younger kids always ask when they are going to get to play. There are other great games, too.

A music teacher blogs an idea for evaluation for kindergarteners. Mine don't do a winter concert, so I'd have to edit it, but another great way to incorporate evaluating (responding) with music in a simple way that young children can understand.

This is a great blog post about incorporating music and art. A child composes music according to the amount of water in a glass, colored differently with food coloring. Check it out!

30 Writing Prompts with a Music Theme. This could be a great way to incorporate Common Core writing standards into the music classroom. An added plus would be to use it to help students respond to music.

This site allows teachers to print off Bach chorales to play in class. Playing chorales will help students use their ears to hear the harmonies and where they fit in the big picture.

I enjoy building things myself and feel confident that I could create this IWB and pen.  The IWB has numerous applications in the music classroom including all students viewing the score and circling the parts you are working on and how they relate to the whole selection.  

This is another site describing the content of a student portfolio.  It is easy to read and understand.  Music educators could easily integrate portfolios into the curriculum.

Music educators use and collect numerous forms and by switching to Google Docs for some of those forms it will streamline the process of collecting information.  These docs can replace practice records, booster parent forms and contact forms. 

This website serves the purpose of giving music teachers from grades 1-12 games, music symbols, guitar chords, and rhythm exercises for teaching. It allows teachers to have something to give students when preparing for a test or the next section of a class. This website includes features such as midi pianos, ear training courses, the lines treble and bass clefs for study, and rhythm games for understanding and foundation.

Florida state standards for music. This allows me to quickly find the standards for the state of florida and helps to create my lessons.

With the implementation of the new standards, it will include maintaining portfolios for each student.  This site describes the steps to creating an e-portfolio.
