This website includes features such as midi pianos, ear training courses, the lines treble and bass clefs for study, and rhythm games for understanding and foundation.

Music educators use and collect numerous forms and by switching to Google Docs for some of those forms it will streamline the process of collecting information.  These docs can replace practice records, booster parent forms and contact forms.

This site helps build rubrics used for assessments.  You can design your own rubrics for playing tests, performances and projects.

This is a website that links to various rubric-creating formats, designed to save educators time and effort in making more visually-appealing assessment tools. There is a brief article that discusses the benefits of implementing a rubric in assessment, and there are multiple links to other articles that discuss the pros and cons of utilizing rubrics at various levels of education. Within the initial article are 25 different formats, some more topic-specific than others, to generate rubrics with pictures and descriptions. It is easy to use and much more efficient than creating a rubric from scratch.

This is another site describing the content of a student portfolio.  It is easy to read and understand.  Music educators could easily integrate portfolios into the curriculum. 

This site has many lessons to help students better understand how to play saxophone. This site would be good for students who begin playing saxophone late and don't have the chance for the one on one instruction.

This is a great resource for everything saxophone related. There are many articles related to basics of saxophone as well as listening recommendations and suggestions on finding a qualified teacher

I enjoy building things myself and feel confident that I could create this IWB and pen.  The IWB has numerous applications in the music classroom including all students viewing the score and circling the parts you are working on and how they relate to the whole selection.  

This site has a lot of great material for brass and percussion. I have used them in the past for a few items (range builders, breathing exercises, drum heads). Affordable items and a very good resource for music teachers.

After reading about this in chapter 5 this week, I want to use this project with my students.  They can create this page for a composer and include pictures, quotes, his/her contemporaries and recordings.

This website allows users to create fake facebook profiles. This is a great tool to get students interested in sharing information they have learned about historical figures. This site could be used to share information on composers, choreographers, musicians, etc. There is also a database of profiles of various figures throughout history.

Music library full of scores and recordings. This site allows teachers to obtain material to analyze in music theory classes and allows them to play recordings of the selected music.

This could be a great music resource for any teacher or student. If you have an older score or piece that you are looking for, it is probably on this website. This could be a good resource for score study or advanced theory study.

30 Writing Prompts with a Music Theme. This could be a great way to incorporate Common Core writing standards into the music classroom. An added plus would be to use it to help students respond to music.

This is a great blog post about incorporating music and art. A child composes music according to the amount of water in a glass, colored differently with food coloring. Check it out!

A music teacher blogs an idea for evaluation for kindergarteners. Mine don't do a winter concert, so I'd have to edit it, but another great way to incorporate evaluating (responding) with music in a simple way that young children can understand.

Music Education resource that has free and low cost downloadable games for children to use that reinforce musical concepts. My 3rd and 4th graders love Staff Wars. My younger kids always ask when they are going to get to play. There are other great games, too.
