This great site is for music teachers interested in using or enhancing their use of technology in music education. Overall, a great resource to gain some insight on projects and effective ways to use technology in your classroom and with your students.

If you teach Music Technology, you simply MUST check this site once a month at a minimum. The Splice community area usually has at least one active remix contest where you can download professional STEMs (multitracks) to use in your own DAW projects / lesson plans. Your students will LOVE this!

What better way to involve students--regardless of musical talent and ability--in the music-making experience than to integrate technology into our everyday classroom instruction? Blogger Ethan Hein provides his audience with seven sample lessons that use music technology as the means through which to teach music-specific content; among the examples he provides are assignments for making music with loops, MIDI, and found sound. By adapting any of these lessons for use in our own classrooms, Hein is convinced that we can engage and involve all students in the music-making experience.

This website would be a useful resource for history facts about composers form multiple musical periods. The website also offers information about prominent and lesser known composers from several countries. YouTube inks are often provided for a listening example of each composer's work.

Midnight Music is designed to simply technology for music teachers. The YouTube channel provides tips, tutorials and lessons and advice. With new videos posted each week there is an abundance of information available to any music teachers. This site could be useful with navigating which software to use for certain projects or discovering what technologies are available. The channel's owner is not based in Australia and may make some references to grade level that are not familiar to teachers in other countries.

This site provides music educators with resources for professional development, advocacy and concert recordings. Teachers will find resources for professional development on comprehensive musicianship through performance as well as information about the state conference sessions

The purpose of this resource is to provide Wisconsin educators will tools and professional development in the state. These tools focus on the iListen project, CMP, and professional development opportunities across the state. WMEA is an advocate for all Wisconsin music educators regardless of affiliation or membership.

This website contains PDFs of music that is available for free to download in the United States. The music is public domain or available via a Creative Commons license. There is also an option to purchase some music. While bandmusicpdf.org is strictly for wind band music, IMSLP contains music for band and orchestra, as well as vocal and other instrumental works. This is very helpful with finding older music or replacing parts, especially with music that is out of print.

The International Music Score Library Project (IMSLP) is a great site to find timeless works of instrumental and vocal music. The site is free to use, but membership is available. The public domain site is easy to navigate and provides scores and recordings out thousands of composers and their music. Make sure not to click on advertisements and download something on accident in the free version. This site is a great resource for educators to find musical works from great composers that are no longer in print, and they is free.

IMSLP is a website where anyone can search music that is no longer under copyright law. Here you can find music from a symphony score to a Beethoven piano piece. This resource can be used by growing student-run ensembles that wish to perform classical music. I use this website when I want to practice bassoon repertoire or when I need to find another piece to practice on piano. This is also a great resource to show students how to properly find music with educated keyword searches through a public domain.

A cloud-based DAW, free and easy to use. It is very similar to GarageBand, and users with little music knowledge can easily create quality compositions by dragging and dropping loops. Users can compose music, record live instruments and voice tracks, use MIDI controllers, and export projects to many known file types.

Soundtrap is a browser-based DAW that allows users to create and collaborate compositions or podcasts. Soundtrap offers a paid subscription allowing teachers to setup a private classroom and monitor/grade/comment on their students work. This DAW can be used for a plethora of creative tasks in music. It's primary affordance is that it is browser-based and compositions are saved via cloud storage.

Soundtrap is a free, cloud-based DAW, with a library of looped sounds and the ability to enter new audio. Users can also easily collaborate with others, and the program can be accessed via computer, tablet, or cell phone. It provides a user-friendly experience that music students can work with to express creativity through composition.

For Bach aficionados like myself, this website literally has it all. You can find excerpts from all chorale motives utilized by Bach in his major works, cross-referenced and indexed. There's a list of the full church year and links to external recordings and files of his music. A must-visit site, which can be great for student music history projects!

Carol Broos is a now retired music teacher who was also a technology coordinator. Her website includes many of the projects and presentations that she uses/used when teaching or presenting. There are several good ideas here, but a fun one is a video that she uploaded of a live version of Incredibox!

The purpose of this site is to provide loyalty free music samples to use in a variety of applications. It includes free samples of a wide variety of genres, moods and even premium tracks that can be purchased. It is a great resource for student projects where students can avoid copyright infringement. It is great for podcasts, videos, commercials, etc.

Students can use downloadable clips for sampling projects and sound effects in compositions. Teachers can also use sound effects if needed for both music theater performances and ensemble performances.
