    This page has posted audio files of all of the North Carolina All-State Solos each year. It is updated each fall to provide the appropriate solo for students and teachers to listen to for reference. By looking at the All-State Solo List linked on this page, a teacher can find the name of each solo and use these resources for music listening projects, or modeling examples.

    The North American Saxophone Alliance website provides information regarding NASA events, upcoming performances, conference information, and an online forum.  I have attended the NASA conference and it was an amazing experience for me.  I have referred saxophone students to this page to learn about upcoming events, artists, and to interact with other saxophonists.

The organization is comprised of performers, teachers, students, and enthusiasts. The group provides important resources for saxophonists at all skill levels, no matter what their background.     A "what's happening" in the jazz world, but also an extremely valuable tool for music educators in North America. Thanks to programs like "Essentially Ellington" there has been a real push to provide music educators with the best resources and opportunities, even going as far as providing free charts for any band program to apply for. Keeping jazz alive in our schools is their mission.

    This site is great for finding flash cards for all of the string instruments. Front and back flash cards are able to be printed from a PDF format. The notes are big enough for students and also has the fingerings as well as the notes written on the back.

    This website was created by Jon F. Mueller, a professor of psychology and neuroscience at North Central College in Illinois. Mueller discusses the differences between traditional assessment and authentic assessment - two different concepts that have different long-term goals and outcomes for students. Mueller, a strong advocate for authentic assessment, provides various examples to illustrate the pros and cons of both methods of assessment at different levels and fields of education, while providing data and research to support his stance. Mueller also provides information and structured examples on how educators can incorporate authentic assessment (in many forms) in their classrooms.
