A fun way to test your music theory knowledge. The website has great videos for teaching the basics of music theory notation. The app itself is simple to use and easy to understand. As a vocalist I especially like the ear-training section.

I use tis online metronome in my rehearsals almost every day. Since it is web-based, students can use this for individual or group practice without any additional apps or hardware.

This blog is notable for its excellent organization: it's indexed by category, including type of device (iPad, smartphone, SmartBoard), educational use (choral, band, elementary ed, collegiate, private instruction), free online resources, app reviews, and more. It has links to a number of music technology sites, and includes inspirational quotes as well! It's a handy go-to site for teachers looking for an all-inclusive music tech website.

This site provides links helpful to band, chorus, orchestra, and general music teachers. The recommended sites have been researched and are of legitimate use for educators and musicians. The sites listed include professional organizations, academic music education resources, blogs, discussion forums, and  app/software reviews.

Another great app for those silly Freshmen and Sophomore voice majors. They often perform lieder, so this would be a great tool for them.

Has anyone used this app? This looks like something even I would use - and I don't use our iPad much... The feature that I think would appeal to my underclass vocal majors is the ability to play along - so they can learn their music from listening rather than from reading (which some of them don't do well at all!).

Zoom products are some of the best recording devices on the market. These could help from recording a student to a full ensemble. The recorders also balance the recording and are very user friendly. I have used these on many occasion professionally and will in the future. There is also free app for most smart phones that will do just as good of job as purchasing a recorder.
