Spirit Airlines Launches 'Binders Full of Sales' Offer - 0 views

  •
"The deal, which the airline announced on its website Wednesday, is a reference to Mitt Romney's much-lampooned "Binders full of women" remark during Tuesday night's debate. It hasn't even been 24 hours since the remark was made in the debate and already a "Binders Full of Women" Facebook Page has more than 300,000 fans, which is more than IBM has. Spirit has eagerly jumped on hot media stories in the past for quick punchlines. In 2011, the brand made light of Rep. Anthony Weiner's Twitter scandal with a "Wiener sale" and mocked Tiger Woods' domestic troubles before that with an "Eye of the Tiger" sale."

NPD: Number of US mobile gamers surpasses core, totals down | Joystiq - 0 views

  •
"There are 211.5 million people playing games in the United States, a loss of 12 million players (5 percent) from 2011's numbers, the NPD reports. Not all of the gaming categories lost players, however: Mobile gamers rose 9 percentage points to take 22 percent, and digital gamers gained 4 percentage points to 16 percent. This makes mobile gamers the largest audience segment, surpassing core gamers, which held the top spot in 2011. The remaining categories - core, family and kid, light PC, and avid PC gamers - lost 17.4 million people this year. This is a "slight decline," the NPD says."

Hallmark tries a text-messaging twist - Kansas City Business Journal - 0 views

  •
Hallmark Cards Inc. is getting into the text-messaging world - but not the one that usually springs to mind. Text Bands, a new product from the Kansas City-based greeting card giant, aim to give kids a way to exchange positive messages when they meet in person. Kids wearing the colorful bands bump fists or shake hands, causing the the bands to light up and the message - up to 10 characters - to transfer. Each band can hold as many as 24 messages; they include filters to help prevent negative messages.

mmmm....baked bus stop potatoes - 0 views

  •
Like a giant, digital scratch 'n sniff, there is an outdoor campaign in England for McCain's "ready baked jackets" that emits the smell to entice consumers. At bus stops, users can push a button and a light will 'heat up' a large image of a potato and produce the delicious smell, and a coupon for the product. Created by JCDecaux, posterscope, and BMB Creative.
