The Hyundai i10 has been a success story right from the start. Now in an improved and beefed up avatar, one can be sure that the new Grand i10 will continue on the same lines. The premium hatchback segment is much sought after real estate in the automotive market and the new Grand i10 is reason for other car makers to seriously buck up their gameplan.

There were a lot of reasons why you would turn away from the previous Tata Vista. But the new one has better quality, a better engine and improved driving dynamics in addition to its capacious passenger cabin and low running costs. One of the notable changes that took place very recently was when Swift DZire overtook Alto and its hatchback sibling Swift to become the highest selling car in India for the month of May, 2013. This landmark event made headlines in automobile sites because it was the first time a sedan led the sales chart of India. The compact sedan was in competition with Alto, Swift and other hatchbacks which were leading the market for many years. The Japanese giant - Suzuki had an idea of developing a product which would be sold in not just India but other markets as well. The Swift which made its debut in Japan in 2000 was upgraded to second generation model in 2004. It took just one year from then for the hatchback to enter Indian market. Maruti Suzuki Swift was launched in India in 2005 and it received astonishing response. It came out during a time when consumers were looking for something more than just a conventional family car and it continues to rule the segment even when there is tough competition from cars like Polo, Figo and Punto.

Favoured by anyone who has had to lug around a large number of people or loads of luggage, the Innova has built a solid reputation for itself. It has become the car to buy blindly for a lot of people. But since it has now been around for quite a while, Toyota has made a lot of changes and given the car new bits and bobs to rekindle its appeal to the masses. One can be sure that it will pick up right where its predecessor left off.
