"Email alone is no longer an effective tool to reach today's students and many students rarely log into your institution's learning management system, however, they do check their phones and Facebook accounts multiple times per day. ConnectYard's QuickConnect Widget can help your institution make its learning management systems more social, interactive and engaging. QuickConnect allows any user within a course to post homework and study questions using a simple HTML badge that can be easily added to popular learning management systems, including Blackboard, Moodle, Sakai and others. Those questions are then delivered to other class members through their favorite social networking site, mobile phone or email. Both students and instructors have the option of replying to questions via Facebook, Twitter, text message, or ema"

A few years ago I was taking a tour of a dome shaped house, and the architect explained to me that domes are an optical illusion. Whenever someone enters a room, their eyes inadvertently glance up at the corners of the room to give them the contextual dimensions of the space they're in.

Sir Ken Robinson: Bring on the learning revolution! | Video on TED.com - 4 views

  • The fundamental shift that Sir Ken is talking about is more similar to discovery based education. Just like google which allows its employees to use 20% of their time to pursue any pet project, I think the education system should have 20% time free time for kids to to pursue any idea or vision or dream maybe within school or outside the school. This is one way to balance the rigid structure of the current learning against total flexible system where its easy for kids to be lost without learning some valuable knowledge. So the main question is should we allow 20-25% of time as free time to pursue their dream ? I think it is yes
