The definition of median and mean and the difference between the two terms is poorly understood by many people and while in many data sets, there is only a marginal difference between the two from a practical standpoint, there is sometimes a stark difference between the two.
A very interesting look at the cost of a BIG Mac burger and man hours worked. I think this could be a great departure point for a lesson/activity. We can bring in factors like a comparison between developed and un-developed countries and create some awareness in the process. Who wants to work on this as a lesson plan?
