An organization that promotes higher education opportunities for first-generation and other under-served college-bound students. A variety of initiatives and resources have been developed to achieve this goal, including the College-Bound Coalition, The College Access & Opportunity Guide; CSO College Center online clearinghouse of college programs and admissions information and the College Counseling Outreach Initiative

The following excerpt says so much to me..."goal state is initially only partially described" (every time!); the need to "scaffold the work of leaders" while "making a more improvisational style of collaboration possible". These phrases express truth and performance goals for me. "Her research on leadership in creative collaboration online explores how people can collaborate across distance on projects where the goal state is initially only partially described. Amy and her students are creating tools both to support existing creative collaborative practice by scaffolding the work of leaders, and also to try to transform that practice by making a more improvisational style of collaboration possible."

Early College High School Initiative "partner organizations...have started or redesigned more than 230 schools in 28 states and the District of Columbia." Their Publications tab offers resources on creating an early college high school, as well as policy issues.

A regional organization of 15 Western states created to facilitate resource sharing among these states' higher education institutions. Offers student exchange programs, regional initiatives, and research and policy work.

"Unlike most traditional academic conferences, sessions at an unconference don't consist of one or three or five people delivering papers to an audience. Instead, they might feature project demonstrations, discussions, creative work sessions, or other formats that build on the knowledge and expertise of whoever attends. For the Texas THATCamp (and I think this is fairly typical at others), participants posted session ideas beforehand on the website, followed by a 45-minute scheduling process as THATCamp began. Topic headings generated by those initial session ideas were posted on the walls of a large meeting room, and participants circulated through the space to meet up with others interested in similar topics. After some productive chaos (which admittedly tested my structure- and schedule-loving personality a bit) the group developed a schedule of sessions that represented not only a variety of interests but also the desire to cluster certain topics into tracks. Like any conference, I frequently wanted to be in two places at once - which I see as one marker of the event's success."

The Common Core organization wants to improve education in America. To do so, they're "promoting programs, policies, and initiatives at the local, state, and federal levels that provide students with challenging, rigorous instruction in the full range of liberal arts and sciences."

From the Overview, "Cal-PASS is an initiative that collects, analyzes and shares student data in order to track performance and improve success from elementary school through university."

One Jam participant noted that data from Cal-PASS was useful in helping them gauge their students' success post-graduation.

Presented by the Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation, this page discusses such shared characteristics as core principles, college-wide commitment to the EC partnership, and adopting strategies that are research-based.

" Education for the Future is a not-for-profit initiative located on the California State University, Chico campus that focuses on working with schools, districts, State Departments of Education and other educational service centers and agencies on systemic change and comprehensive data analyses that lead to increased student learning. "

The Common Core State Standards Initiaitive is a state-led efford coordinated by the National Governors Association for Best Practices (NGA Center) and the Council of Chief State School Officers
