Interesting read. "In Senegal, the high levels of insolation afford the ideal prerequisite for the installation of photovoltaic systems to provide direct access to electricity or maintain a reliable energy supply as decentralized stand-alone solutions."

  • 1. Information and knowledge can be pushed up to government. In doing so the data and information can be designed and structured in such a way that it is readily integrated with existing data sets. (Note- This is not always easy due to the diversity of government data both in structure and format). 2. People will use government and other data if it is contextualized to their needs and if it is readily available to them in a format that they can use and identify with. Thus whilst this site enables information to be sorted and organised around individual postings the information is integrated at the suburb or local government area level. 3. The postings should drive the query, rather than the users having to seek the information and contextualise it. 4. The data gathered should respect individual rights to privacy and is intended to be collated and used in ways that are consistent with the principles of social justice.
