I think the cultural component of this is esp interesting. Weather vanes would be similar in this regard.

This is an interesting piece that crosses from musical instrument to art piece. The rules given to the piece give it a distinct sound, abilities and difficulty, but make it truly unique.

I saw Sheila Kennedy and Frano Violich give a presentation at the Kalil awards last week. Amazing work in interactive architecture. Be sure to check out their "Portable Light Project" (under Projects/Intelligent Infrastructure). Renewable power and light source that can be sewn into traditional garments.

One of the more interesting hypertext poems I've come across. Every sentence is a link instead of a couple words here or there. Still trying to map everything out. Definitely loops in places.

Victor Gama creates his own instruments and performs live with a strong visual element (instrument and projections included). Definitely check out the "Instrmts 4 Da Museum" under the Projects section. He's performing at Brown and at Carnegie Hall with the Kronos Quartet in early March for those interested.

Their website has more info. you can download the custom linux distro, and pure data objects there. there is a link to their site in the article but here it is again: http://l2ork.music.vt.edu/main/
