  • Obviously, those elements catch the fancy of young people

obviously, this also catches the attention of most people over 21. this is rediculous.

It's ironic how the companies claim that they have no intention of advertising to teens, meanwhile, the article justifies how there are commercials about alcohol all night throughout the super bowl. Although most people don't look at it as a way to advertise to minors, it most definitely is. There is a large number of teens throughout America who watch the super bowl and see these commercials. It is a hidden goal and tactic of the alcohol companies. They use the oblivion of the adults' knowledge to recognize the fact that they are advertising to teens, and they tempt them with the commercials they broadcast for teens to see nationwide.

I disagree. During the Super Bowl, I think they're trying to advertise to the adults. Drinking beer and watching the Super Bowl, in a lot of people's minds, just go together. It's the perfect combo for a lot of people, and I think the companies are just trying to take advantage of that and make sure that THEIR product is the one of choice, not advertise to teenagers. Yes, there is a large amount of teenagers who watch the Super Bowl, but there is an even larger amount of adults. I disagree that they "use the oblivion of the adults' knowledge" to advertise to teenagers. It's really not that tempting, either.

Yesterday I got 2 viral chain letters (luckily I knew the person wouldn't send me something about viagra) There are a lot of chances to get scammed. I think a lot of us know whats real or not though because we live on the internet so much.

It is interesting to see how many teens admit that they are easily influenced by alcohol commercials. It is also interesting to see the statistics of how many minors drink, and the death frequency that goes along with it. For example, one out of every 280 babies born today will most likely die from an alcohol related accident. It also said that about 8 kids a day die from some alcohol reason. It is really sad to see how many kids die from alcohol, but the worse part is that these companies promote underage drinking, knowing the consequences these teens may face.

The Return of the Dumb Blonde | North America > United States from AllBusiness.com - 1 views

  • Now that men are so often painted as fools, it's also less insulting to show women in the same poor light.

I completely agree with this. Since men are shown as such goofs and not that bright all the time, I think women are shown in the same way. I think it makes it less insulting to the women.
  • "The sexes got a little equal over the last few years—there were a lot of really dumb men,"
  • "Suddenly it was OK for women to play dumb again."

  • When 22-year-old hotel heiress Paris Hilton catapulted to notoriety last fall by showing up in a porn video circulated on the Internet, it was hotly debated whether her instant fame would translate into something lasting or fade quicker than a tan.
  • Since then she has signed a lucrative contract to appear in another season of The Simple Life
  • She is also reportedly in talks to star in commercials for the Hilton hotel chain.
