Germany swears in new president after scandals - CNN.com - 2 views

  •
Since this presidency came a bit early (3 years too early), here's a brief summary to Wulff's resignation back in February, which also comes as a disadvatage to Merkel. I'm trying to find videos since they're always more entertaining, but here's what I got so far. P.S: Sorry for bombarding you with so many pages on a Sunday!

Click here to see photos of the evolution of the LRA. Thanks to an incredibly effective social media effort, #StopKony is trending on Twitter today. The campaign coincides with a new awareness-raising documentary by the group Invisible Children.

"Coming back to the "Kony 2012" video and its celebrity endorsements, what are the consequences of unleashing so many exuberant activists armed with so few facts? Defining Uganda in the international conversation by issues that are either geographical misfires (Save northern Uganda!) or an intentional attempt to distract the international community (Death to the gays!), do a disservice to the many critical problems Uganda has."

I can't believe his campaign actually produced this. AND the video we saw is only PART of a series titled "Obamaville" that will be available on his website. He is certifiably crazy. And his campaign manager must be on crack.

Mmm creating a series of ads against an opposing candidate as opposed to having one focused on the candidate himself... Not sure if it's a great idea

Iran: Poll turnout 'slap' to West - 2 views

  •
3 March 2012 Last updated at 11:13 ET Friday's elections to the Iranian parliament are the first nationally since the 2009 protests Iran's interior minister Mostafa Mohammad Najjar has said that initial figures show turnout in Friday's parliamentary elections was 64%.

  •
Too bad the 64% turnout rate (as reported by the government) is probably inaccurate and completely fabricated
  •
possible. but why so sure about it? how would you know? how would any of us know?
  •
Of course you could say that, but let's be realistic here. It's a well-established fact that the 09 election was fraudulent and that polling data was fabricated.
  •
I do not believe a single word said by the officials of that regime.
  •
I am not disagreeing but I just like to push people to question their beliefs and where they come from. In other words, acknowledge the 0.00001% chance that the elections were not fabricated and consider what that would actually mean.
  •
I agree with you! It's always good to play devil's advocate and challenge what people say.

This is definitely a political communication campaign! You can do an interesting critical analysis and reach very interesting conclusions concerning political communication campaigns. I would be glad if we can briefly discuss this tomorrow in class. (I know 50 minutes are not enough to have discussions and go over theories so I hope we'll have time for both Kony and Obama discussions)
