MaRS is listed as one of the other clean-tech organizations.

William Reichman, Baycrest President and CEO of Canada, announced the creation of a new company with MaRS, a center specializing in Canadian innovation. The new company, called Cogniciti will produce games and mental training protocols to beat the decline in memory with the help of high-tech games.

Toronto Life talks about the hotbed of mobile apps in Toronto. Prominently featured is MaRS client, Polar Mobile. They develop apps for more than 150 companies, including Sports Illustrated, Time, CNN, CBS and the Food Network. Their apps have been downloaded six million times and counting.

Four new luxury towers going up in downtown Toronto have missed the opportunity to tap into geothermal energy - and reduce their energy footprints accordingly. Tom Rand, the clean-tech adviser at MaRS (the non-profit innovation institute in Toronto's downtown hospital district) is the owner of the Planet Traveller eco-hotel soon to open just west of the MaRS complex, on College Street.Rand had grown cynical about the "greenwashing" of the hotel industry (properties trumpeting themselves as eco-friendly because they provide daily new towels and sheets only on request).
