InGamer Sports, a leading technology provider of real-time, interactive sports and entertainment games for the web and mobile devices is launching the InGamer platform for Game One of the Hockey Finals in partnership with The Hockey News and National Hockey League Players Association (NHLPA).

InGamer Fantasy Inc.which produces "real-time second screen gaming" for sports publishers, has received funding from a group of five angel investors. InGamer Fantasy Inc is a MaRS Discovery District Client. 

InGamer Sports, a MaRS Client, has developed an innovative technology that takes fantasy-league sports players from "being general managers to being head coaches." According to Nic Sulsky, CEO of InGamer, the company launched "in partnership with The Hockey News and the NHLPA May 27 in time for game one of the Stanley Cup Finals -- does so by allowing gamers to interact with the games in real-time, while they are being played, using their computer or mobile device, and to interact with other gamers at the same time through social media apps."

InGamer Fantasy Inc., an innovator in real-time second screen gaming for sports publishers, announced that it has secured investment from a group of strategic investors. The funding round will be used to enhance InGamer's product offering and expand sales & distribution in preparation for their US launch in September, 2012.

The following six start-ups will comprise JOLT's first summer cohort: Prof (interactive social education platform), Vennpage (infographics), ShelfLife (social commerce for fans of collectibles), SlingRide (social network for booking rideshare trips), Greengage Mobile (social platform encouraging eco-sustainable practices in the workplace) and tout.it  (social media platform for sports fans).

Toronto Life talks about the hotbed of mobile apps in Toronto. Prominently featured is MaRS client, Polar Mobile. They develop apps for more than 150 companies, including Sports Illustrated, Time, CNN, CBS and the Food Network. Their apps have been downloaded six million times and counting.

Paul Godfrey, president and CEO of the National Post, War Child Canada founder Dr. Samantha Nutt, and businessman Lawrence Bloomberg topped the list of 29 Canadians named to the Order of Ontario yesterday. Lawrence Bloomberg is also a Founder and Director of MaRS.
