Vincent Cheung of Shape Collage, recent winner of the MaRS Up-Start Competition, was also named national champion for an award by the Advancing Canadian Entrepreneurship (ACE) organization. Congrats to Shape Collage, a MaRS client.

The Premier's Innovation Awards was hosted by the Ontario Centre of Excellence (OCE) in partnership with MaRS. The award is part of Ontario's Innovation Agenda to invests $200,000 to $5 million in the provinces top innovators to help advance their cutting-edge research and development, while boosting global competitiveness and creating more high-skilled jobs.

Henry Chong, LIFEbike completed MaRS Entrepreneurship 101 course and entered in MaRS 2012 Up-Start Competition. Keri Damen, Director of Entrepreneurship Education states "the Upstart competition serves as the capstone to the program." Chong won the competition for $10K.

Two of MaRS Clients, Shape Collage and Weblish, were two of three that won top spots at the 12th annual IBK Capital-Ivey Business Plan Competition held on March 26 & 27.

Vincent Cheung of Shape Collage, a MaRS client, won the student entrepreneur national champion at the 2010 Student Entrepreneur National Competition, held in Calgary May 12.

Kim MacKrael, Globe and Mail reporter states, "Steven Blair, an exercise researcher at the University of South Carolina is the first winner of Canada's Bloomberg Manulife Prize for the Promotion of Active Health. " The award of $50, 000 in research was presented to Dr. Blair at the MaRS Centre.

The Association of Chinese Canadian Entrepreneurs presented its 15th annual awards on April 2, 2011, including one to Vincent Cheung of Shape Collage. Shape Collage, a MaRS client, won Best Start-up for their web application that creates collages in shapes using digital photos.
