The Next 36 is Canada's Entrepreneurial Initiative. According to Mark Zimmerman, MaRS' Senior ICE Advisor, "the Next 36 is a student spin off of the provincially and corporately backed MaRS Centre for Innovation, if you will, which backs over 1200 startups, 140 of which are mobile."

The Next 36 - mission is to transform the country's most promising undergraduates into Canada's top entrepreneurs. The Next 36 has selected its second cohort of 36 young innovators from over 1,000 of the country's leading students. MaRS Discovery District is one of its' partners.

Amoryn Engel stated "Galen and Hilary Weston celebrated our country's next generation of high impact entrepreneurs through a new and innovative program, The Next 36." Ilse Treurnicht, CEO MaRS Discovery District was in attendance.

MaRS Discovery District is offering a one-week boot camp for students between the ages of 13 and 15, where they will invent and test original business ideas and learn skills to help them succeed in business. The program is called "MaRS Future Leaders."
