Wiffiti - 0 views

  •
Wiffiti (http://wiffiti.com) allows students to submit a text message to an online bulletin board. Messages can also be submitted to Poll Everywhere, but the Wiffiti board is large and animated and students love the fake names it assigns to their posts. ..

I'm a little confused about why separate permissions are necessary. Google Apps for Education is a service contracted by the school and those terms of service are different from the ones that govern regular Gmail accounts. The school is in full control of all student information and acting as the parent's agent, as in: "...the Rule does not preclude schools from acting as intermediaries between operators and parents in the notice and consent process, or from serving as the parent's agent in the process."  59909 in 64 Fed. Reg. 59888, et seq., available

Home | Zimmer Twins - 0 views

  •
a neat site for introducing elementary school students to making simple animated video stories. On the Zimmer Twins site students can create a story from scratch or complete one of the "cliff hanger" story starters. Students do not need to have any drawing skills in order to create a story as all elements are added to the video through a simple drag and drop interface. Students select settings, characters, character actions, emotions, and text styles then drag those elements into the storyboard. Students then arrange those elements and type words into the conversation bubbles where appropriate.

COPPA FAQ's - 0 views

the actual rule governing COPPA.  The school can be an intermediary, which is I believe what happens when you send home and collect the permission forms, or the agent, which is a power the school should have as a result of the enrollment contract parents sign. Also see

takes about 5 minutes, and I guarantee it will put a smile on your students' faces. The activity is very SMART board friendly. I used it at my last staff meeting to talk about overcoming INSURMOUNTABLE problems. Enjoy!
