I'm a little confused about why separate permissions are necessary. Google Apps for Education is a service contracted by the school and those terms of service are different from the ones that govern regular Gmail accounts. a neat site for introducing elementary school students to making simple animated video stories. On the Zimmer Twins site students can create a story from scratch or complete one of the "cliff hanger" story starters. Students do not need to have any drawing skills in order to create a story as all elements are added to the video through a simple drag and drop interface. Students select settings, characters, character actions, emotions, and text styles then drag those elements into the storyboard. Students then arrange those elements and type words into the conversation bubbles where appropriate.

With Claroline teachers can produce assessment activities, post and collect assignments, build a wiki, monitor student activities, and create chat rooms or discussion forums. Claroline is available as a free download for Mac, Windows, and Linux systems. Claroline is not a hosted service so you do need to have someone host your installation of Claroline.

takes about 5 minutes, and I guarantee it will put a smile on your students' faces. The activity is very SMART board friendly. I used it at my last staff meeting to talk about overcoming INSURMOUNTABLE problems. Enjoy!
