Let's teachers and students create sets of flashcards that you can share with others. Can also do searches for existing sets. Great for subjects that use images as well (for example rock and mineral identification in earth and space science)

" By the time you have reached the end of this tutorial you will be able to construct a series of linked web pages for any subject that includes formatted text, pictures, and hypertext links to other web pages on the Internet. If you follow the steps for the Basic Level (lessons 1-14) you will develop a page about volcanoes and if you go on to the Advanced Level (lessons 15-29), you will create an enhanced volcano web site."

Learn It In 5 - Students demo wiki and Diigo use in classroom - 5 views

Great resource for teaching students how to use the tools. Students would rather watch a video instead of listen to the teacher talk, and why not watch a video created by another student?
  •
WOW! You could get lost in this site rather quickly. I'm often looking for "activating strategies" and usually discoverystreaming is my "go to" source for video clips. Now this site will be another resource for me to use!
  •
Agree with Rich why not use other students to explain how to use the tool. I only think of the endless possibilities you could use to collaborate on different readings or assignments using the tool.

"If you've ever wanted to paste "Pop Up Video"-style commentary bubbles over your favorite YouTube clip, Popcorn Maker's drag-and-drop UI couldn't be simpler. But you can also add more sophisticated interactivity like Google Maps, live Twitter feeds, and Wikipedia articles just as easily. "

Instructional Strategies Online - 0 views

Liked the way this site organizes 5 core tactical approaches for instruction. Can help one visualize and identify the approach that he/she may take to achieve learning objectives. Instructional methods are used by teachers to create learning environments and to specify the nature of the activity in which the teacher and learner will be involved during the lesson.

easel.ly | create and share visual ideas online - 2 views

I really liked this site's idea of making visual ideas online. I would like to make more visuals for my students. Also, I believe that they like to make visuals as well. This site was a little difficult to navigate and the choices were some what limited. However, it is in the beta stage. As with all Web 2.0 tools there will be more changes in the future. So I will definitely be coming back later to see what has been updated.

  • teachers need to guide students to be critical readers "who can evaluate online information for credibility, timeliness, accuracy, and even hidden agendas,"
  • The new generation, sometimes dubbed "screenagers," does much more with technology outside school. Through social networking sites and wireless gizmos, kids are reading; texting; connecting socially; and making their own digital creations, from music mashups to backyard, YouTube-ready videos.

I find that "screenagers" know how to use their personal devices for social media, but are unable to problem solve with educational technology.

Graph functions, plot tables of data, evaluate equations, explore transformations, and much more - for free! theses an easy way to add higher math graphs to tests and assignments. Students can also create graphs and send them. This fits under redefinition for the SAMR model and doesn't fit clean;y into any category of the web 2.0 clusters. My best guess is Infographic s under data analysis and drawing. Any thoughts?
