YouTube's video and short quiz designed to help young people better understand use of intellectual property relating to re-posting and remixing. In the video, young pirate Russell copies a music video on his cell phone and posts in on YouTube. He is warned that he could loose his booty and get banned for life! The film goes on to discuss remixing, fair use, and the possibility of YouTube takedowns, with a small print approach to the legal-eze. It encourages the creation of original work. The tone is intentionally comic melodramatic, in 1950s instructional cartoon style.

Curiyo is a browser extension, available for Firefox and Chrome, that makes it easy to quickly find definitions, videos, pictures, and related reference materials for any word you select in your browser. When you're reading an article online and come across a word that you don't recognize or a word that you're just curious about, long-click on it and a pop-up box containing definitions, pictures, videos, and more will appear.

The Digital Public Library of America is a huge collection of digitized artifacts and exhibits from museums and libraries across the United States. Through the DPLA you can find documents, books, images, audio recordings, and video clips. The DPLA is a new resource and only some of the artifacts are arranged into exhibits at this point. You can look for artifacts by location, time, or keyword search. Clicking on an artifact will open information about where it is housed and when it was created.
