Advantages to apps include price, and not needing a second gadget. This is of use to teachers, as not all students can afford a graphing calculator. Not all students have cell phones either, but this provides another option that will work for some students. Also useful on the days Johny forgets to bring his calculator, but has his phone.

This student, and the rest of her classmates, could look at nonfiction text features and try to use them in their own writing (table of contents, captions with pictures, bold words, close-ups, diagrams with labels, an index). This may motivate her to find more information about white sharks and think about how to organize it in a multi-page format. This would be an effective tie to a nonfiction reading unit.

"It suggested to us that this signaling pathway is involved in other immune-related functions." The immune response of humans, mice and other vertebrates consists of two fundamental components. The first is the innate immune system, which recognizes and responds to pathogens in an immediate, but generalized, way and does not confer long-lasting immunity. The second is the adaptive immune system in which highly specialized T and B cells eliminate or prevent pathogen growth -- and create immunological memory in case of future encounters with the same pathogen.     This website would be useful because not only does this site provide different resources and examples of how technology is used in classrooms, it also provides articles that are constantly being updated... as the technology changes so do the articles so they can accurately reflect what is currently going on with technology. It also offers newsletters and even templates/worksheets to apply the concepts that are being learned.
