Integrity is both a part of who you are and what you do. It is about being true to your values, no matter what. And if those values are admired by others, you have the makings of a great leader, particularly in times of change. We often have two sets of values: normal values and stress values. In most situations, with normal values at the fore, we follow social rules of consideration and trustworthiness. But when pressured, our underlying stress values come to the fore. For many people these are more about personal survival and any thought of putting others first goes out of the window. Where that stress line is where we flip varies greatly between people. Some get selfish at the slightest discomfort, whilst others resist the temptation for a while longer. Integrity means pushing this barrier much further out, even to the point of self-sacrifice.

Intel Corporation or also well-known as Intel is an American multinational corporation based in Santa Clara, California. The company was founded by Gordon Moore and Robert Noyce in Mountain View, California. Gordon is a chemist and Robert is a physicist and co-inventor of the integrated circuit. It is the largest and highest valued semiconductor chip makers based on revenue globally. It is also the inventor of the x86 series of microprocessors, and these processors are found in most computers. The company actually supplies processors for computer system manufacturers such as Lenovo, Apple, Dell, and HP. Intel Corporation manufactures graphic chips, motherboard chipset, flash memory, embedded processors, network interface controllers and integrated circuits, and other devices related to communication and computing.

Technology by its very nature will stop working at some point and this often creates an atmosphere of distrust. As the Director of Information and Communication Technologies I very often only hear the complaints and rarely a thank you. My staff works hard every day, which includes typical upgrades, day-to-day fixes, and emergencies. Decisions are made daily that impact how our teachers, staff, administrators, and students use the technology resources that are available in the schools. I think it is in our best interest to be proactive and share the good news and the challenges that are presented through the integration of technology throughout academic and organizational use throughout the school district.

Profiling Educational Technology Integration, or PETI, includes a framework aligned to No Child Left Behind, Title II D (NCLB IID), as well as a suite of tools designed to assist states, districts, schools, and researchers in profiling their progress with technology over time, documenting both readiness and effective use. Why are the profiling tools important? The tools were developed to assist states in making sound, data-driven decisions about educational technology. Metiri Group, which developed these resources under the advisement of the SETDA Common Data Elements committee, has worked over the last year with five states to pilot and revise the instruments and protocols based on data analysis to ensure reliability and validity. Used as outlined here, PETI offers valid, reliable data collection instruments and methodologies that answer the questions in the SETDA framework. Used over time, these tools can provide valuable baseline and trend data for accountability purposes.

The School Technology Needs Assessment (STNA, say "Stenna") was originally developed by SEIR*TEC at SERVE in collaboration with the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction's Educational Technology Division, as part of the LANCET project (Looking at North Carolina Educational Technology). The STNA was created to help building-level planners collect and analyze needs data related to implementation of the NC IMPACT technology integration model, as well as other contemporary frameworks for examining technology use in teaching and learning. The STNA is typically accessed through a web address unique to each school, using a free online surveying system provided by SERVE. After a the survey has been completed by all staff members, it is closed and the address of a web-based report is provided to the individual responsible for coordinating the needs assessment. For schools preferring other options, a paper-and-pencil copy of the STNA may also be downloaded and freely reproduced for use, or items may be adapted to any other surveying method (e.g., telephone, email, or other web-based system).

"Energy Healing "A bodily disease, which we look upon as whole and entire within itself, may, after all, be but a symptom of some ailment in the spiritual part." Nathaniel Hawthorne wrote these words in the early nineteenth century, but it has taken the Western medical community some time to catch up. The idea that the mind plays an important part in the health of the body, however, is fast gaining acceptance in our empirically-oriented society. A recent study conducted by the East Tennessee State University Chattanooga Family Practice Residency Program found that more and more medical practitioners accept and encourage the role that alternative medicines and therapies play in healing. In a survey conducted through that study, it was found that sixty-five percent of physicians had prescribed at least one form of complementary or alternative therapy for their patients. About thirty-three percent had undergone some form of alternative therapy themselves. It was also found that doctors who had been practicing for ten or less years were more likely to view alternative medicine as viable and valuable. This step in the right direction is due to more exposure to alternative forms of healing and a greater awareness of patient needs. Hawthorne's observation that physical disorders were symptomatic of spiritual ailments is central to the concept of energy healing. When our life forces or energy fields are out of balance, physical illness can ensue. Energy healing seeks to use positive energy to create a better balance within the body. Also inherent in energy healing is the idea that all energy fields are interconnected. This allows energy healing practitioners to send energy to their patients, thus creating a more balanced and positive energy field. Energy healing can even be done from thousands of miles away. Perhaps one of the most prominent forms of energy healing is prayer. Paul Parker, a professor of theology at Elmhurst College, says: Judaism,

In times of education bashing and dwindling resources, we must acknowledge that our most valuable assets are our human resources and allow our students to build our future in a positive direction in a technological, global society.

Taking A Good Look at Instructional Technology (TAGLIT) is a suite of online assessment tools designed to provide educational institutions effective data to evaluate technology use and integration in the teaching and learning environment. The suite includes assessments for School Leaders, Teachers, and Students. The Enhancing Education Through Technology Act of 2001, issued by the U.S. Department of Education (US DoE), has established requirements by which states must report the technology literacy of all 8th grade students.
