Chongqing Three Gorges Museum in Chongqing (Chongqing Museum) was founded in 1951 as Southwest Museum. It was renamed in June 1955 as Chongqing Museum, and again in September 2000 as China Three Gorges Museum in Chongqing (Chongqing Museum) with the permission of the General Office of the State Council of China.

There are several large and very interesting museums in Chongqing, all detailing the rich and cultural history of Chongqing, and China. Places like the Three Gorges Museum in Yuzhong District and the Chongqing Natural History museum in Beibei District are both very popular among locals and tourists alike. You can also find a museum dedicated to General Stillwell, a museum for Science and Technology, and the underwater museum Baiheliang in Fuling.

Chongqing - The 11th Dazu Rock Carvings International Tourism and Culture Festival and the "Beautiful China · Dazu" international tourism exchange event are poised to kick off on March 9 in Southwest China's Chongqing.
