The results of this research add to the evidence
regarding the effectiveness of using AAC with people
with an ASD (Mirenda, 2001; Schlosser & Blischak,
2001), and adds to the knowledge of why AAC systems
are potentially beneficial for children with autism,
(The National Standards Report). Effective teaching
of motor plans, using the LAMP theory, can be seen
to allow for increased storage and retention of
symbolic information, resulting with more automatic
communication over time, and reducing the cognitive
demands associated with analysing and choosing
from different symbol sets, as described in the LAMP
Manuals (Halloran and Emerson, 2006: Halloran and
Halloran, 2012).
Every student learns and develops at his or her own pace. Education is not about how fast a student can acquire information. Instead, it's about developing useful strategies individuals can use to process and integrate life's experiences in order to achieve whatever they choose to do with the time they are given.
Keybr.com is very straightforward. You can choose from three basic lessons that start with a certain number of keys on the keyboard, and then, as you progress through the lessons, more keys are introduced to the mix to make things a little tougher.
Students are likely to know many more words than they use in their writing. This lesson is designed to help students better use their vocabulary by teaching (or reviewing) what verbs are and to then help them access verbs they already know and use them in sentences. Students work together to brainstorm and create lists of verbs for each of the letters of the alphabet. Then, choosing one verb
for each letter, they create pages for an Action Alphabet book. Each page includes an illustration and a sentence using the verb in context. The project can be adapted according to age level and language ability. Students in kindergarten may work together on a class book, while older students may work in small groups or individually. Similarly, the complexity of the example sentences will vary depending on students' writing levels."

""Toolbelt Theory" is based around the idea that as humans we are tool users, and that we choose tools most effectively when that choice begins with the Task at hand, and then considers theEnvironment in which that task must be performed, the Skill set of the individual (the tool chooser), and the Tools which are available (Thus the acronyn TEST) --Ira Socol "
