One victim, who was 16 at the time she was raped in 2006, testified she was standing at a bus stop on 75th Street on her way to a shopping mall in the middle of the afternoon when a man she later identified as Naylor suddenly grabbed her by the arm as he brandished a screwdriver.

Judge Stanley Sacks scheduled a June 3 hearing on post-trial motions and for the four remaining sexual assault cases against Naylor.

"He said, 'Get in the car or I will kill you,'" then drove her to a nearby alley and sexually assaulted her, she testified.

Troutman became a suspect after a detective canvassing the building spotted what appeared to be blood on his sneakers

Detectives also found a pool of blood in the basement of the complex.

Troutman eventually admitted to authorities that he strangled the girl with his hands and that her head hit the basement floor "a couple of times at least," according to the criminal complaint. Investigators said Troutman told them that "it was like whiteout" and that he "snapped."

Across the street, a crowd of nearly 50 people yelled at him and screamed obscenities as he was led inside.

"The last thing I would have thought is that they would find this child dead. This is a safe little community,"

"They were quiet, kept to themselves,"

Authorities said Troutman and Skyler had also crossed paths about three weeks ago.

Skyler and a friend were near Troutman's apartment on April 18 and needed to use the bathroom. He invited them in, but they got spooked when they saw pictures of naked women on the walls, according to the complaint.

Troutman then made a lewd comment, and the girls ran to leave, authorities said. Their parents reported the incident to police, but no charges were filed, a decision Ferman defended on Tuesday.

"Everyone did what they were supposed to," Ferman said. "The crime took place very quickly, and the body was disposed of very quickly, and I can't say that there was anything anyone else could have done that would have been able to prevent this tragic event."

He's probably about 30 years old, with a bachelors and possibly a masters degree. He is most likely white and may have a wife and children.

The SEAL who delivered that deadly shot is no doubt in perfect physical shape.

"They have gazelle legs, no waist and a huge upper body configuration and almost a mental block that says, 'I will not fail,'"

But he is also most likely hiding beneath a slightly disheveled exterior. Unlike other navy SEALs, the member of SEAL Team Six who killed Osama bin Laden most likely does not appear as clean cut.

Former SEALs say this was definitely not his first mission and he may even have pieces of shrapnel or "frag" still in him from previous firefights. is hands are probably calloused from firing a weapon thousands of times.

"Whoever was the lucky guy to make the squeeze, to take him down -- he's looking forward to the next mission,"

"He was hard-assed by his teammates that it could have been done in twenty minutes. There is always that bubble of pushing for better success and expertise."

Dittmeyer's family is offering a $3,000 reward for help finding her.

Police said Monday they were examining a skull found on the outskirts of a bird sanctuary in Long Island's Nassau County, potentially the ninth set of remains discovered in the probe. About four hours earlier, a New York state police officer and his cadaver dog spotted another set of remains about a mile and a half away. On Tuesday, police said both the skull and the remains were determined to be human.

Police have not said whether the latest remains are from two different people, nor whether they could have come from one of the other eight victims.

"It kind of creeps me out, but other than that it doesn't really affect me,"

Richard Runge, whose son, Paul, was on death row for the 1997 rape and murder of a mother and her 10-year-old daughter, was "elated" that his son's life would be spared.

But such feelings were not shared by Rachel Williams, who still has bullet fragments in her skull from the night in 1996 when Daniel Ramsey shot her in the head, killed her 12-year-old sister, raped and killed her best friend, and wounded two toddlers.

Maxwell said he then took the victim to his garage and "...strung her up in a homemade device used for skinning deer." This pulled her up off the ground.

The sheriff said Maxwell returned to Parker County two days after the abduction and burned the victim's house down.

"It's a shocker," said Teddy Robinson, a neighbor of the suspect. "I would have never dreamed that something like this could happen next door."

Especially since his picture was just in the local newspaper as vice-president of the local Kiwanis club?

Maxwell is charged with aggravated kidnapping and aggravated sexual assault.

The victim was treated and released from the hospital but Sheriff Fowler said she remains extremely traumatized.

Nubia and Victor were placed in the Barahonas' custody in 2004 when state investigators took the twins out of their biological father's home after the man was accused of sexually abusing Nubia.

Nubia suffered from a cleft palate and a rare sexual dysfunction. Her treatment for the cleft palate was damaged, according to the arrest warrants.

Despite routine visits, state investigators repeatedly missed clues that the children were being abused in their new home.

In the days since the children were found, the state has removed two other children, a girl named Jennifer, 7, and a boy named George, 11, from the Barahonas' home and placed them in protective foster care.

Carmen's biological granddaughter, who made frequent visits to the Barahona home, told a school therapist about the twins' abuse, saying the children had been bound and forced to stand in a bathtub. The therapist then called a child abuse hotline.

A case worker in 2007 wrote: "Nubia's hunger has been uncontrollable, she sneaks and steals food, steals money, has hair loss, is very thin, nervous and jittery. Nubia also has an unpleasant odor… In the past it is believed Nubia's adoption was halted when Nubia was coming to school dirty while in the adoptive mother's care."

"This child is very medically needy and should not be missing appointments because the foster parent does not want to take her," the report said.

the 10-year-old twins were subjected to months of abuse culminating in a torture session that ended with the girl's death just one day after state child welfare authorities visited the home and found no reason to intervene.

Barahona was initially arrested Feb. 14 after Nubia's remains were found covered in chemicals and decomposing in a bag in the back of his truck. Police found Barahona and Victor parked along a highway outside West Palm Beach, Fla. The boy, overcome by fumes and convulsing, was covered in chemical burns.

Barahona was originally charged with aggravated child abuse and the attempted murder of Victor, but it was not until this weekend that the couple were charged with first degree murder for the death of Nubia.

"They ignored everything we had to say and went on the emotional kick of losing a presidential candidate and loss of a national leader," he said

Sirhan, who moved to the United States with his family as a child, was initially sentenced to death for the assassination of the senator, brother to slain President John F. Kennedy.

It was Sirhan's 14th appearance before a parole board, but it was the 13th time that he was eligible for release on parole and was denied, said Doug Roberts, a spokesman for the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.

At a 2003 hearing where he was also denied parole, a state Board of Prison Terms panel found Sirhan's anger and ability to cope had worsened, and that he would pose a risk to society if released. He was denied parole again in 2006.

Pepper, has suggested that Sirhan was brainwashed to target Kennedy, telling ABC News in an interview earlier this week: "There is no question he was hypno-programed."

At his trial, Sirhan declared that he killed Kennedy "with 20 years of malice aforethought."

The Palestinian-born Sirhan's motive was said to have been anger about U.S. policy in the Middle East.
