Printing cards is most effective technic in learning foreign language. Here is a simple and awesome generator of printable cards with automatic reflect of image. Just type your words and translation then press "Foreign view" button and "print". Then revolve paper in printer, press "Your language" button and again "Print".

Dead language is defined as a language neither used nor spoken as a native language or mother tongue. Essentially it means no one speaks the language anymore as a medium for day to day communication, some examples of which are Latin, ancient Greek and Sanskrit.

The Standards-based Measurement of Proficiency (STAMP), a criterion-referenced, Web-based assessment tool, measures students' language proficiency at levels ranging from Novice-low to Intermediate-mid. STAMP currently measures reading, writing, and speaking proficiencies in Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, and Spanish. CASLS strives to continually improve STAMP's test design while adding new languages and new levels. STAMP is available through CASLS' partner company, Avant Assessment.

The Digital Narrative is a Lightning Bug resource introducing story writing through digital media.

To anyone in this group who happens upon this note/page: I am simply experimenting with diigo and foreign language texts online. Obviously just adding traditional comprehension questions to a text with diigo's floating sticky notes is the easier part/path of least innovation. I am trying to figure out how to maximize interactivity, creativity, and personalization while also reinforcing those grammatical/vocab stepping stones which a learner needs to be able to appreciate the onus of the creativity the new-fangled teacher is laying upon them :) . Please drop comments and suggestions below!
