أكدت عميدة كلية أصول الدين في جامعة علوم القرآن بجاكرتا، عضو مجلس العلماء في إندونيسيا، أنه لا يوجد في الشريعة الإسلامية ما يمنع المرأة من تولي أرفع المناصب القيادية ما دامت توافرت فيها الصفات المناسبة، والخبرة اللازمة، بما في ذلك منصب الرئاسة، مشيرة إلي الاختلاف بين منصب الإمامة ومنصب الرئاسة. كما طالبت بإتاحة الفرصة للمرأة المسلمة لتتبوأ المكانة المناسبة وتلتحق بالوظائف التي تستطيع من خلالها أداء دورها، لكي نثبت للغرب أن الإسلام دين تقدم وحرية، ولم يفرض قيودا على المرأة، بل كرمها وأعطاها كل الحقوق.
