    the women participation in politics in Algeria remains "in its lowest rate", though Algeria is considered as the first Arab country, in which a woman is leading a political party, while the women's participation in Parliament, did not exceed 3.2% in 1997. Such a rate is low if compared with the flourishing days of political pluralism the then, while this rate increased in 2002, to reach 6%, and 8% in 2007.

  • واكد جمال مبارك الأمين العام المساعد امين السياسات بالحزب على عدة مبادىء تحكم التعديلات التشريعية المقترحة لضمان حد ادنى لمشاركة المرأة فى مجلس الشعب اهمها الا تقل هذه المقاعد عن عدد 56 مقعد تخصص للمرأة وبنسبة لا تقل عن 11 بالمائة من اجمالى المقاعد المنتخبة وذلك تمهيدا لطرح مشروع القانون على الدورة البرلمانية الحالية تمهيدا لأقراره وتطبيقه فى الأنتخابات البرلمانية العام المقبل المقرر ان تجرى فى ظل الأنتخاب بالنظام الفردى .
  • مقعدا وستكون غى صورة دوائر تقتصر الترشيح فيها على المرأة وبحيث لا يقل عدد هذه المقاعد عن56 مقعد مخصصة للمرأة
  • وبنسبة لا تقل عن 11 بالمائة من اجمالى المقاعد المنتخبة .

One of his daughters carried a sign that read: “No to any attempt to forbid what is divinely allowed. No to any attempt to allow what is divinely forbidden.” Two of his three daughters are circumcised.
