"Video: The Amazing Youtube Choir
Social media continues to amaze me. I believe a new online collaborative art form has emerged in which several people contribute to create a masterpiece. This virtual choir conducted by Eric Whitacre and produced by Scott Haines will show you what I mean by a collaborative masterpiece. Read the rest of the story of how this was created here. You may also want to see the collaborative video masterpiece my PLN has helped me create. This video was tweeted by @larryferlazzo."
ecently while viewing the wonderful tweets by people that I follow on Twitter I came across a tweet by Andrew Marcinek (Here is a link to his Blog http://iteach20.blogspot.com/). He was sharing a Wiki that he created for his staff and students. The Boys Latin School Ed-Tech Resource Wiki serves as a home for all the links that he shares with his staff broken down by content level.
People can use the social media site Twitter to do so many things. From updating personal statuses, to getting news to advertising a company, the possibilities are endless. Some people like to have fun with these sites, and what better way to do so then to play game using Twitter?

have been fortunate enough to see many resources created by the thousands of willing educators using Twitter. However in my opinion there is a strong case for using hashtagging more systematically, so that we better organise and structure the resources, ideas and thoughts we all have.
"Why I still want MS and HS to have a Laptop
I received a tweet a couple days ago asking why I still believed laptops, in this case MacBooks, are the right choice for middle school and high school students."

One of the great things about Twitter is the wealth of useful links that get shared between users. My conservative estimate is that 25% of the resources that I've bookmarked over the last few years have come from Twitter users. The one thing that I wish Twitter had was an option for bookmarking those links without having to open them outside of Twitter. Packrati.us was built to do just that, bookmark links without leaving Twitter.
To get started using Packrati.us authorize the service to access your Twitter account and your Delicious account. Once you've authorized Packrati.us it bookmarks in Delicious all of the links you Tweet or reTweet. If you're a frequent user of services like Four Square or Gowalla you can tell Packrati.us to ignore links from those sources. Packrati.us also allows you to specify hashtags to ignore or to add to your links.
One of my favorite TV moments is when Norm of the series Cheers walks into a bar and everyone shouts, "Norm" as if they were welcoming him home. Part of the Cheer's theme song, Where Everybody Knows Your Name by Gary Portnoy, goes:
Making your way in the world today
Takes everything you've got
Taking a break from all your worries
Sure would help a lot
Wouldn't you like to get away
Sometimes you want to go
Where everybody knows your name
And they're always glad you came
You want to be where you can see
Our troubles are all the same
And this is what Twitter is for me, a place where my Personal/Passionate Learning Network (PLN) knows my name, they're glad I came and we find out all our educational problems are pretty much the same."

How
The purpose of this resource is to provide "Just in Time" training through an online interface for K-12 educators based on the National Educational Technology Standards for Teachers (NETS-T). These standards are the basic technology skills every educator should possess. In the process, educators will develop their own skills and discover what students need in order to meet the NETS for Students, as well as the new MMC Online Experience requirement. Participants who fulfill all of the requirements have the opportunity to earn SBCEU's. To learn more about the session, look under the tab "The 21 Things". We hope you take advantage of this unique opportunity.
