Little Lily Polka Dot - 8 views

  •
a story about her polka dotted world one day when I was walking my pug, Petula Peabody. As Petula chased a spotted red ladybug, I realized it would be loads of fun for children and their parents to have a peek into a wonderfully whimsical polka dot world. Kids and adults alike LOVE polka dots! As I continued to develop the story, I also realized that perhaps Lilly could help kids deal better with their scary visits to the doctor. And so, as you see in the book, when Little Lilly Polka Dot gets polka dots on her tongue, a very kind doctor removes them in a very cool way!

"The app opens to a series of templates, which include basic, contemporary, modern type, classic, editorial, and craft. I'm assuming that you can also use custom created templates that have been downloaded from external sources as well. When a template is chosen, it switches into edit mode, which reminds me a lot of Keynote. There's a bar on the left that organizes all of your pages, and the window on the right displays the page currently being worked on. I chose to experiment with a picture book that also has some text. "t is good to question what we see, as all too often we adhere to the life script that everyone else is happily playing out - for me Eli Pariser's book The Filter Bubble helped me to once again question what we take as the truth, in his case the internet that is presented to us. Digital storytelling tool - upload the photos, arrange the photo order and record your story based on the photo being viewed. This would be great to have students retell what happened on a field trip or create an oral creative writing story based on photos chosen by the student or teacher. Students could even create a book project over a novel or short story with this tool.

Imagine you're back in school, and you're learning about the human body. You open your book and see the flat image of a skeleton on your page. You imagine what it must really look like and try to study as best you can. Now, imagine you're a student today. ... That's where the imagination stops. Thanks to new technology developments in projection and filming, students soon will be able to see the human body and other complex images, projected up close and in three dimensions. Welcome to the real education of the future.
