Emfatic is a text editor supporting navigation, editing, and conversion of Ecore models, using a compact and human-readable syntax similar to Java. The EPLed Emfatic now hosted at EMFT extends the Feb 2005 alphaworks release with support for EMF Generics, folding, "red squigglies", an EMF Type Hierarchy, hyperlinks, AutoEdits, and the possibility to define templates to speed up document creation, among other usability features. The best way to gain hands-on experience with Emfatic is to right-click on any .ecore file and choose Generate Emfatic source, a similar converter works in the opposite direction. Online help is also available. Emfatic itself builds upon Gymnast, a framework for jumpstarting text editors for custom Domain Specific Languages. Documentation on how to extend Emfatic, as well as on using Gymnast, can be found in this technical report.

"Besides a rich user interaction many applications need to display a big amount of data sets as diagrams or reports as part of their applications. In order to bridge the gap the BIRT project was created as part of the eclipse ecosystem. BIRT is an open source Eclipse-based reporting system that integrates with your Java/J2EE application to produce compelling reports. That BIRT integrates well with classic RCP applications is a well known fact. But the need for rich internet applications is still growing. And here the RAP comes into play. As a platform for developing Web 2.0 applications with the same patterns as for RCP it paves the way for single sourcing applications running on both platforms. In this talk we will show how to integrate diagrams and reports known from BIRT into RAP applications. Topics covered include how to setup the environment to let BIRT and RAP play well together. modeling workflow engine (MWE) supports orchestration of different Eclipse modeling components to be executed within Eclipse as well as standalone. Based on a dependency injection framework, one can simply configure and wire up 'workflows' using a declarative XML-based language. The project provides the runtime used to execute workflows as well as the IDE tooling used to edit, start and debug them.

The CDO (Connected Data Objects) Model Repository is a distributed shared model framework for EMF models and meta models. CDO is also a model runtime environment with a focus on orthogonal aspects like model scalability, transactionality, persistence, distribution, queries and more. CDO has a 3-tier architecture supporting EMF-based client applications, featuring a central model repository server and leveraging different types of pluggable data storage back-ends like relational databases, object databases and file systems. The default client/server communication protocol is implemented with the Net4j Signalling Platform.

"The Open Services for Lifecycle Collaboration (OSLC) is an open (creative commons) REST based service specification aimed at improving/simplifying Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) system integration. A number of aspects of ALM integration are covered by OSLC ranging from Requirements Management to Automation(Build/Deploy). The OSLC Change Management (CM) spec outlines a standard for creating, modifying, and querying for change requests (tasks) from OSLC based service providers. A goal of the Mylyn project is to implement a client for OSLC-CM (see [1]).
