    The other night, I interviewed Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati, who was in New York to address the United Nations General Assembly. A lot has been written about Mikati, who was appointed in January. He's been accused of being too accommodating to Syria and Hezbollah (Hezbollah and its allies hold an 18-seat majority in the cabinet he formed in June 2011). For this reason, I fully expected Mikati to skirt any discussion of Hezbollah or the situation in Syria. Instead, I found him surprisingly candid about the tightrope he is walking - trying to keep the peace between all of Lebanon's many factions.

Meaning/ Special Intrest: If you are someone intrested in fashion and keeping up with trends this article would appeal to you. That being said it is a meaningful article discussing Tory Burch's spring collection.....I personally chose the article because Tory Burch is an iconic business woman/designer, to me.

    There's always been a sense, when walking into a Tory Burch store or into her Fashion Week presentations, that you are arriving at the "Fantasy Island" of fashion. You half sense that Mr. Roarke will tap you on the shoulder at any moment and turn you into an Upper East Side blonde with a car and driver, at least for the day.

Verlander (23-5) allowed six hits, struck out six and walked two while becoming the first Tiger since Hal Newhouser in 1946 to win 11 consecutive starts and the AL’s first 23-game winner since Barry Zito(notes) in 2002. “It’s probably best I’ve felt in the last few starts, the last five or six,” Verlander said. “I really felt like I was getting back that rhythm I’ve been trying to find for a while.” That’s a scary statement for the rest of the American League. Verlander improved to 11-0 with a 2.51 ERA since his last loss on July 15 in Chicago, his only defeat in 15 decisions against AL Central opponents this season.

      The reason why i thought this article was newsworthy was because it just happened yesterday, it talks about a team contending for a playoff spot in baseball, and the majority of the article talks about the best pitcher in baseball dominating yet again. Qualities it contained: Prominence/Celebrity when it talks about Justin Verlander. Importance and imopact when it talks about them contending for a playoff spot (at least thats important for baseball fans). Timeliness: it happened yesterday. And finally, conflict. It describes a game that happened between two teams.
