    1. Khan, Salman. (2012). The One World Schoolhouse: Education
    Reimagined. NY: Grand Central Publishing.

I watched an episode of Ted Talks a few months ago and Salman Khan was being interviewed. Some of his talking points on teaching and developing new ways of learning grabbed my attention and I went and bought his book. His book sheds new light on traditional classroom learning and chapters titled "How Education Happens", "Tests and Testing", "Flipping the Classroom" and "Embracing Uncertainty" are among many helpful chapters in this interesting read.

    2. Alrich, Clark. (2004). Simulations and the Future of Learning.

This is a link from Ray Cole's syllabus who teaches 715, Computer Foundations of Instructional Multimedia. Since some people may never end up taking this class and get to use some of his resources I thought I'd share some of them. Aldrich does consulting working for e-learning issues. This is simply 53 minutes of audio in which you can hear Aldrich lecture.

    3. Chisnell, D., Rubin, J. (2008). Handbook of Usability Testing: How to Plan,
Design, and Conduct Effective Tests. Indianapolis, IN: Wiley
    Publishing, Inc.

This book is the required reading for ITEC 830, Usability and Testing. If you don't get time to take the course the book is something worth investing in or checking out. There are detailed chapters on Formative and Summative Evaluation and everything to know about testing. Chapters are layered upon each other and breakdown how to conduct testing, setting up testing environments, finding participants, etc. This book leaves no stone unturned and is basically a manual or how-to guide that walks the reader through creating testing and usability trails. Below is a breakdown of some of the chapters so you can understand the thoroughness of this book:
Chapter 4: Skills for Test Moderators, 45-61pgs.
Chapter 5: Develop the Test Plan, 65-91pgs.
Chapter 6: Set Up a Testing Environment, 93-113pgs.
Chapter 7: Find and Select Participants, 115-151pgs.

    4. Tom Kuhlmann's cell phone tower audio and text demo.

Above is another link from Ray Cole's class, Computer Foundations of Instructional Design. I found this demo very helpful when designing with audio and text. When you need to present text or the content of a presentation in a bulleted list in your project the link above will demonstrate the best way to do it. Whether you're designing an e-learning course or a simple presentation for class, Tom Kuhlmann's demo will show you how to combine your content and audio to make a professional and engaging experience.
