Overview: This website is intended for Preschool teachers who would like lesson, ideas, and printouts. Within each subheading there is background information of the subject for the teachers, as well as activities and printouts for the students. There are up to date materials that relate well to students, and are easily accessible by teachers. This is a wonderful, one that I will be using once I graduate and start a Preschool. Content: When the website is first opened it is easy to determine the purpose and audience that was intended. There are no authors available but the sponsor is at the bottom of the website, with a link to give feedback. This was last updated in 2010, which is very current considering the type of material; material for little kids do not change all that much within a year. There is a ton of information available on this site. There are themes as well as activities. Within each of these there is a little info about the subject for the teacher and resources, activities and printouts for the students. There is also a links that leads to what they call their sister sites, which provide more ideas. Design: This site is pleasing to the eye. There are colors that go well together, but are not over-powering. The information is well organized and clearly defined. Each link works and leads to where is desired. There is a link to many others links that are helpful and along the same subjects.

The last time this webpage was updated was in 2010, this is fairly recent, since that is within the last year. There are a variety of activities, games, quizzes, and many printouts. The intended audience is teachers who are looking for ideas. I love this website. It was easy to navigate and gave me a ton of great ideas and printouts I can use. Content: This website is full of links, all of which work, that lead to many different types of content from letters and numbers to animals to coloring pages. Within each of these sub-headings there are many activities and ideas to use for the children in your class. Each section and sub-sections are clearly defined and have pictures that correspond. The last update was last year, this seems to be a while ago, but since material for pre-k does not change drastically in a year, it is still up to date. There is not any information on the author, so that is lacking, but overall the content on this website is up to date and easy to access. Design: The design of this website has all links well defined and organized. There are pictures that also correspond to all of the links and headings. There is easy navigation throughout the whole website and everything is easy to access. Everything is up to date. There are a few varieties of media, mostly in the form of words and images. There is a copyright, also with a description as to how the website can be used for educational purposes.

Preschool Education: Discover The Fun In Learning | Diigo - 0 views

Kayla Bowie 13 October 2014 Overview: Preschooleducation.com is a site for preschool teachers. It isn't very professional looking but all of the content on it is useful. There are links for theme days, calendar time, games (inside and outside), and holidays. If you're in need for a quick idea, this is a good site to use. Content: There is a lot to go through on this site. If you knew a topic of interest, it would be pretty easy to search for something. Because there is so much on here, it can be a little slow find things though. Design: It is pretty organized with about twenty tabs on the side to narrow down searches. However, there is an add that will pop up whenever you go to a new page which makes it a little irritating to look around on the site.

2-5-12 Overview This website is an interactive learning website for everyone. The goal was to make learning fun as well as memorable and to provide an opportunity to learn and improve for everyone. This website has sections designed by subject as well as age. There are sections for preschool/kindergarten, elementary, middle/ high school, college, test prep and adults. There is something for everyone in this site with varied levels of difficulty. The site provides games, interactive reading pages, facts, quizzes and brain teasers. Overall I feel that this site is wonderful and I would use it in my classroom and suggest it to others. Content There is an unbelievable amount of information on this website. It is mainly based for elementary and is separated into subjects; USA, world, vocabulary, health, science, math, history and animals. The site also can be organized by age level. This makes it easy to find an activity based on interest. There really is something for everyone, from preschool games to chemistry quizzes to games for adults. There are also facts of the day in each subject. The hidden animals is great for learning about adaptations and the way animals camouflage themselves and survive in a fun, interactive way. The site can be considered a business since you can purchase software and materials from an online store. However, mostly it is a free interactive website that provides something for everyone. Design I am slightly disappointed in the design of the website. It does not give a revision date even though the information all seems accurate. I am also disappointed in the links. If you open the site from Diigo, the links to pages other than Hidden Animal Games do not work. However, if you open a web browser and put in Sheppard Software, the whole site works perfectly. Even though I am disappointed in these flaws, I really like the way the site is organized. It is colorful and appealing but more importantly it is extre

Overview: There is a lot of information as well as links that contain many good ideas, printouts, and activities. This site is not well organized though. It is way too busy. There are so many pictures and words that it is hard to tell where you are at and where you want to go. The intended audience is adults, whether that is a teacher or parent. I do not like this site all that much. Although there is a lot of good information and ideas, it is hard to navigate and it takes more time than I would be willing to spend. Content: The content of this site is of good quality and there is a lot of it. There are numerous ideas for activities, food, and printouts for children. There are many links that parents could use. The last update for this website is 2011, so it is extremely recent. The sponsor is clearly labeled and there is contact information if you ever have any questions and comments. Although this website contains a lot of good stuff it was extremely had a first glance to tell what the website was about. Design: This site easily downloaded as well as had many links to navigate through. It is also current and has other information and links available. But the overall of design of this site was poor. There are so many different ads, link, pictures, and words that it is too busy and hard to understand what exactly are the links that are desired for Preschool activities and ideas. The title is not easily noticeable either. The site had a very confusing layout

Overview: This website has a lot of information and is very detailed in each paragraph. It is kind of tedious to read, because it is long and there are no subtitles. It is just one long page of paragraphs. Content: It has a lot of good information with details, it also has a medical editor and an editorial advisory board. The information was also updated just a couple months ago. Design: I would prefer subtitles so it isn't just a long block of words, the page isn't hard to follow.

Preschool Kindergarten Lesson Plans, Activities and Worksheets - 0 views

Morgan Jenkins October 13, 2014 The author of this website wanted to help teachers find resources and lesson plans more easily. This website provides many different resources for preschool and kindergarten planning. It has lesson plans, activities, worksheets, math, and crafts. I personally feel that this site is helpful in many ways because it has a large variety of ideas and lessons. You can find specific lessons for holidays or seasons, but it still has generic lesson plans that can be modified for a specific class. The author of this website, Elaine Engerdahl, is a credible author because she taught Kindergarten for 31 years, therefore an expert by experience. The last copyright was in 2013. I would consider the materials up to date because the lessons all follow common core standards and include up to date technology and methods. There was a contact section that included the email and mailing address of the author along with a phone number. The content is clear and effective because the purpose was to help provide teachers with resources and the site effectively does that. My overall impression of this website was professional and helpful. This website was easy to navigate and had a clean design. There were buttons for lesson plans, activities, crafts and more. When you would click on the links to other websites they seemed to all work. The design of the simple but fun. There were graphics but not too many. The text was easy to read, and the font was not too big or small. Clearly the website was set up well and is easy to use.

I rated the content of this site as very useful and definitely worth bookmarking for future reference. Design The design of this site is very easy to use and the content is easy to access. I rated the design very well designed and easy to use.

Toddlers & Preschool Children - 0 views

Overview The overview of this website is excellent for different skills on how to build up your child's self-esteem whether they are in preschool or are a toddler. It also goes through of how to clearly identify if your child has an issues with their self-esteem, so you aren't going in the wrong direction with what you may think is the issue. Content The content for the website is used efficiently, and also very effectively. The language is easy to understand is clearly laid out in bullet points. The first look at the website is very well to the viewer, the information of where all of the information came from is easy to access, etc. It is an informational type of website. Design The design is excellent as well. It is easy to navigate throughout the page for what you are looking for, and also it is easy to navigate to other pages that are related to the topic of toddlers and preschoolers with their self-esteem. There is not many pictures nor is there videos but it still is a helpful website.

Importance of Finger Painting in Preschool - 0 views

    Jade Line April 14, 2015
This article is about how finger painting benefits children in all different ways. This resource is intended for mothers of toddlers and preschool teachers. It talks about the different motor skills that finger painting can help the young children develop. I think this website is well put together and easy to follow. It gives me great ideas for my lesson in class. This site is credible and the author is known, although she is a demand media, and isn't a credible teacher. In this article she talks about how fine motor development is the number one component of finger painting with children. She compares finger painting to having child zip up their jacket, they are using hand eye coordination which is helping them develop fine motor skills. Finger painting also opens children up to creativity and literacy/vocabulary. For example, the child could describe how the paint feels: squishy, slimy, or sticky. This website helps the teachers and parents to understand the importance of finger painting. It also helps them realize that it isn't just a mess, its fun and productive. The resource gives them ideas on what to do with the children and shows them different content areas they can take the finger painting with. The overall design of the website is appealing to the eye and very easy to navigate around. There are links provided with different content of finger painting as well, that work as well. There were no ads on this website that distracted the eye.

Free Preschool Activities and Worksheets - 1 views

Overview: Preschool Activity Box has many good, different ideas, tips, and activities. The intended audience is teachers or parents who are teaching pre-k children. The website is well organized and easy to navigate. As soon as you click on the link to the website, you know where you are at and can see the index of activities and worksheets. The website is up to date although many of the links are dead ends. I like this webpage, it has good ideas but since most of the links are dead I probably would not use it. Content: At first look I was able to distinguish the purpose and audience for this site. There were no authors listed for this site but the sponsors are listed at the bottom, the only thing they don't have is contact info for the sponsors. The information was updated in 2011, so it is very current. There are very good ideas, activities and tips. Design: The website is concise and has good organization. The homepage loads well and at a first glance you know exactly what webpage you are on. The copyright and date are clearly seen and there is a link to their sister site. The first links are live and lead you to some tips and activity ideas, but when you go any further, for printouts, the links go dead. This is very detrimental to the site. There is a huge mix of live and dead links, so it makes it a guessing game as to which link will work.

Kayla Bowie 13 October 2014 Overview: Starfall.com is a site for teachers, parents, and students for preschool. It goes over back concepts like ABC's, reading, math, calendars and holidays. It has instructional links for parents as well as games for students. There are also links to the starfall store where you can purchase curriculum activities for kindergarten phonics. Content: The links are working and it is easy to navigate around the site. The content is current and accurate and will still be useful for years to come. Design: The design is very well done. At first sight it is kind of in your face with colors, but other than that is very easy to navigate. With a little help, younger children could easily use it.

Elementary Web Sites for English Language Learners - 0 views

Content: This website includes a large amount of content about teaching English to students that speak a different language as their first language. The content is easy to determine based on the home page. There is adequate information about the author of this site including her credentials. However, it is unclear about when the information was last revised. The site includes a tremendous number of links that takes you to websites where preschool to grade eight students can practice their English through doing a number of interactive activities. The site also includes lesson plans as well as information on how to effectively teach English as a second language. This website would be a very effective teaching tool for teachers and even parents that are trying to teach their children English. Design: The design of the website allows people to navigate it easily. It also loads very quickly and efficiently. The homepage includes clear information immediately about where you are and what the contents of the site are. There is information about how to contact the author of the site. The links listed all contain descriptions of the site that they take you too. Most of the links work properly, however, there was a couple that could not be found. The site contains a very large amount of information that can be extremely helpful resources for ESL or any teachers. I was unable to find the currency of the information, however, at the bottom the date for how long the website has been up was listed. Overview: The intended audience of this website is ESL teachers and the links provided by the website are intended for students from preschool to 8th grade because it provides interactive learning activities for them. The purpose of the site is to provide teachers with resources and information on how to effectively teach their students the English language. The site provides an abundance of helpful activities that can effectively teach students. Based on the conten

Overview: The purpose of this site is focused on entertainment, although some educational games (especially early education) are available. Based on the content and design, it is quite clear that this site is for children. There are many different recourses that are also available for children. At the end of some games, additional links to games of the same genre are given for further entertainment. The site also includes videos, pictures, blogs, as well as a news section designed with information that would be appealing to children Content: This site is designed to entertain kids with many different options in each category provided. Each category contains many subcategories to narrow the search of entertainment. I also find that throughout the material provided, preschool category provides a majority of the educational entertainment. The remaining categories may include educational material but focuses on humor or "top news" of young celebraties. Design: This website has an appropriate amount of eye appeal. Although the background of the site is white, the many different categories and links are abundant in color and graphics. The blue "goop" encompassing the title immediately attracts the imagination of children and encourages creative thinking. Also, each category is age appropriate. I found nothing that would be unsuitable or baleful for young minds.

Teach Play Based Learning - 0 views

  •
Overview: This website is directed toward preschool and childcare professionals. Its purpose is to teach these professionals more about play based learning and how to bring these elements into the classroom. Content: The content of this site is reliable and professional. The creator of the site posts her entire background of working in childcare facilities. Her seminars are posted for viewing and the information given has resources to back it. The site also provides different links to sites that use this play based learning approach, and you can browse their sites for more information on how they run their programs. Design: The design of this website is good. The pages load quickly and all the URLs are correctly linked and are available. The pictures used are relevant and tie to the material. Navigating this site is also very direct and easy to follow.

Okaloosa Student Games - 0 views

  •
2-5-12 Overview This website was designed by the Okaloosa School District in FL. It has sections for the administrators, parents/community, students and teachers to be involved in fun learning. The student resources have many sections such as Brain teaser, Student games, Principal's Club (more games and activities) and Practice activities. The student games are organized by subject and by age level. Activities are easy to find and easy to use. Overall, this website is a good source for students and others in the community to find games, activities and other resources for learning. Content This site has a lot of information for a wide variety of audiences. In student games, there are sections that are then broken down further into different skills in the subject. Overall categories include math, language arts, science, social studies, technology, games for fun, research and homework resources, search engines and preschool games. Once you choose a topic within the subject then links to games in this subject come up. For example, when you choose Number Basics within Math there are 13 different links to games. Each link has a description of what the game teaches or practices. There are a lot of information and fun activities on this site. Design This website is very organized. The whole website is broken down by who will make the most out of the resources. Once in a section such as student's games, it is broken down further and further to really find a game or activity that fits what you want the students to practice. It is not too complicated to get to, it is simply systematized. This makes navigating the website very easy and allows you to spend more time doing the activity you were looking for instead of searching for it or sorting through games that don't fully match the topic. I really like the organization of this website and how easy it is to use.
