Google Voice - 5 views

  •
An alternative to teachers who are concerned about distributing phone number. The service allows you to set up a number that you can then direct to voicemail or other phone numbers based on the who is calling. For example, if it's an unknown number, you can send it directly to voicemail. If it's a personal call, you can have it go to your home number, or if it's a parent calling, you can have it rerouted to your classroom. Google Voice will also transcribe voicemails to text.

Stick Pick App for iPhone/iPod touch/ iPad - 5 views

  •
Such a cool idea! Stick Pick is an iPhone/iPod touch application that allows you to randomly (or intentionally) draw a student's name from an on-screen can of popsicle sticks -- but that's just the beginning. You determine the mode and level of difficulty for each learner, and then, every time that student's stick is drawn, you'll be shown over a dozen Bloom's-style question stems -- uniquely tied to your learner's individual ability level!
