If you have not explored Facebook please do so. There are a number of groups for librarians to join. For example, there is a Library 2.0 interest group and ALA is there as well.
There is a lot of excellent information regarding school libraries. I find this site to be very useful when it comes to issues such as weeding or adding books in my school library's collection.
