Students can research a bill in Congress by typing in a topic. Then I have my students write a letter to their Senator or Representative about the bill they found.

Google Drive is a great way to share information with students. Students can share their papers, while the teacher can edit and make comments for improvements through the Google Docs as well. In addition, the journalism class uses the Drive to store, share and organize images for the yearbook.

Wordle is an online site that allows your students to use their imaginations and create word art !
Examples: Wordle can be used at the end of a unit, by having your students choose vocabulary words that they feel were most important. I've used Wikispaces with middle school classes. Very interactive, easy to add students as members. You can add any kind of media, host student projects. I used to have students complete bell-ringers and closure on the message boards. The new Wiki Classroom adds other features. The site says,

This site has saved my bacon a number of times when the filters on the schools network won't allow a You-tube video to play and I can play the same video through this teacher and student video site.

This is a really neat site where students can take a virtual tour of the annex where Anne Frank and her family hid during World War II. They can learn what their daily lives were like as well as read short biographies on all the people who were in hiding in the building and the people who helped them survive while they were there.
This whole website is great for resources about the Holocaust, but the maps are excellent visuals for students to understand the issues of the Holocaust.
I use this website to print a copy of the Constitution for all of my students at the beginning of the semester. I also use it for activities related to the Declaration of Independence, Articles of Confederation, and the Bill of Rights.
