This site is great for teachers, parents, and students. You can watch videos on just about anything. It is useful for every subject and entertainment for the students. For example, The Magic School Bus is a popular video I use in school.
This is the website for the Museum of Natural History. It is an extremely interactive site as students can look at what the museum has to provide and teachers can base ideas for lessons from the information provided.
I've used Wikispaces with middle school classes. Very interactive, easy to add students as members. You can add any kind of media, host student projects. I used to have students complete bell-ringers and closure on the message boards. The new Wiki Classroom adds other features. The site says,
"We took the best parts of Wikispaces and added a newsfeed, realtime assessment, and a beautiful mobile experience. We think you'll love it."
This is a great website for allowing students to look at exhibits and interact with them in the different museums of the Smithsonian. There are also some great slideshows and online activities that are great additions to history lessons.
A lot of interactive quizzes that students or teachers can take concerning prejudice. There are also a lot of resources for teachers that can be used in the classroom.
Discover education resources and information, lesson plans, field trips, and fun interactive activities for educators, families, and students. All based on Smithsonian museum collections and research.
The National Geographic Kids website has everything from videos and current news stories to recipes and crafts that will get children excited about learning.
