Socialized medicine has become the talk of the day. This is not only unfortunate. It is harmful and we have a responsibility to speak out. Socialized medicine has led to a drastic reduction in services and in quality of care in every nation it's been tried. The elderly and the infirm are always the hardest hit.

A top US domestic security chief called Wednesday on ordinary citizens to join law enforcement bodies in fighting an increasingly elusive -- and homegrown -- terrorist threat. "We need a culture of collective responsibility, a culture where every individual understands his or her role," Janet Napolitano, secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, said in a speech in New York.

Let me set down a couple of fervent beliefs that animate everything I do and everything I say. I believe that God created heaven and earth and every single individual on the planet. And that the power that the States gave to the Federal Government - they can take back.
