India's infrastructure sectors like coal, electricity cement and steel are all slowing down according to the January core sector data. Growth in eigh core industries slowed to 1.8 percent, lowest in thirteen months, due to negative expansion in crude oil and natural gas. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and the Ministry of Finance have agreed, in the biggest change to the monetary policy since opening up the domestic economy more than two decades ago, to introduce inflation targetting to rein in a long history of volatile price rises. The two sides set a consumer price or retail inflation target of 4 per cent, with a band of plus or minus 2 per centage points, by the financial year ending March 31, 2017.The central bank will first aim to have consumer inflation fall below 6 percent by January 2016.

The market seems to be sulking without any major trigger to uplift sentiments. At 11 am, the Sensex fell 44 points to 25,864 and Nifty 17 points down to the level 7730 . However, Midcap and Smallcap stocks have 0.4 - 0.8 per cent growth. Bank shares have broken nearly 1 per cent. Metal, consumer durables, healthcare stocks are 0.2 per cent weaker. FMCG stocks are dull. Capital Goods, Power, Consumer durables stocks have 1.25 to 1 per cent growth. Realty and IT stocks are 0.5 per cent stronger.There is an light edge in technology stocks.

Midcap and Smallcap stocks fell with 1 per cent. Capital Goods fell 1.40 percent and Realty down by 1 percent. Power slipped by 0.80 percent and Consumer Durables down by 0.65 percent. Bank and Auto sector fell. FMCG sector gain by more than 1 percent. Metal & IT shares also have slight edge.

Consumer Durables,Metal and FMCG stocks have selling pressure. Pharma, IT and Realty stocks have buying trend. Midcap and smallcap stocks have slight edge. Sensex fell 41 points or 0.15 per cent and is trading at 28,078. Nifty fell 0.2 percent or 17.5 points and is trading at 8421 levels.

Nifty is up 13.75 points and trading at 8358. Sensex is up 44.73 points and trading at 27919.46. Midcap and Smallcap stocks are trading good. Consumer Durables trades with a gain of 1.45 percent. Oil & Gas stocks are moved up by 0.5 percent. Healthcare stocks are trading with good growth.

Economic data from the Conference Board showed US consumer confidence jumped to its highest in seven months in September. Two separate reports showed home prices rose for another month in July, though the gains were not as strong as the previous month... Castorseed prices closed higher by 0.9 per cent on Saturday at the National Commodity & Derivatives Exchange Limited (NCDEX) as a result of the rise in demand from consuming industries against restricted arrivals in domestic markets which in turn encouraged the investors to enlarge their holdings.

The BSE Sensex closed the day yesterday at 1996403, 146.40 points higher than earlier close.
