As teachers, how are we to differentiate the between using ICT's as a tool or for the delivery of a lesson. A snippet from the introduction quotes "The educational effectiveness of ICTs depends on how they are used and for what purpose, like any other educational tool or mode of education delivery, ICTs do not work for everyone, everywhere in the same way."
It is I believe important to match the technology to the task as well as the learner.By providing a variety of tools and strategies students can explore and use a range of technologies, learning about them as they go. We only know how to effectively use a tool, when we use it! In delivering lessons we can decide what we want the students to achieve and then backward plan according to the needs the students may have to be able to achieve the task. ICT can be a tool used to present a lesson or it can be a focus of a lesson.
