Google has done what no other browser makes could do over the past 13 years; Chrome surpassed IE for the first time in market share. Chrome was estimated by StatCounter to have held 32.71 percent of the browser market on Sunday, while IE declined to 32.48 percent and Mozilla was at 24.88 percent.

I thought it would be interesting to list the release history for major versions of each of the big browsers. Two factors that I believe will play a role in eventually abolishing browser version numbers are the rapid release schedule, and auto-updating -- both of which, if I'm not mistaken, are Google Chrome inventions.

A lot of people have voiced their concerns over Microsoft's use of "touch-based" UI with Windows 8. In an attempt to gauge how the "average" desktop user will engage and react to Windows 8's Metro design, lockergnome had his dad sit down and use Windows 8 without any previous instruction.

HTML5, WebGL and Javascript have changed the way animation used to be. Past few years, we can only achieve extraordinary web animation by using Flash and Java Applet. It's possible to create insane effects and crazy animations with scripting and render it on the browser.

Many of these we have already looked at, but a couple cool ones I haven't seen.
